Meet Hannah Lai – Youth Projects Officer

MYAN NSW is excited to welcome Hannah Lai to our team as the Youth Projects Officer.

MYAN NSW is excited to welcome Hannah Lai to our team as the Youth Projects Officer. A little bit about Hannah: Though born in Australia, I grew in a number of countries before coming back to Sydney for university. After graduating, I was a youth worker and caseworker for unaccompanied minors who were seeking asylum, humanitarian visa holders and also families and single adults released from detention. I heard the most unique life stories during this time and discovered the power of a genuine welcome. What do you like about working with multicultural young people? Being young can be hard, being young and new to a country is even harder. But fearlessness, creativity and gratitude are all great qualities I see in multicultural young people and it’s a privilege to be part of their journey. What are you looking forward to in this role? I’m really excited to be part of MYAN’s projects such as the Multicultural Youth Ambassadors program and working with schools and services around Sydney to help new students settle into Australia better. I’m bound to meet some great people and learn from them!
